• Approach:

  Devised a holistic and aesthetically pleasing content strategy to showcase ITOURS Travel services, ensuring potential customers gain a clear understanding of the travel experiences on offer.

• Responsibilities:
  As the sole contributor, I handled all aspects of the project, from website design and UX/UI design to content creation and website development for ITOURS Travel.

Logo Description

I was entrusted with the pivotal task of crafting the logo for ITOURS Travel, a project that delved deep into my creative philosophy and design ethos. It was Mr. Isuru who recognized the significance of a visual identity that could encapsulate the essence of boundless travel experiences.

I designed the logo with “Dark Cornflower Blue” (#243f8d) as the core color because I firmly believed it could symbolize the vast open skies, a realm of infinite possibilities, and an endless sense of freedom.

In the inception of this design, I decided upon a circular form for the logo. It wasn’t a mere coincidence but a conscious choice. The circle, in my opinion, represents the unity and completeness that our world embodies, both in terms of a welcoming community of travelers and the globe awaiting exploration.

The placement of the flight symbol just beyond the circular boundary was a matter of my design philosophy. It was my opinion that this placement instills a sense of dynamism and growth. It speaks to the idea that ITOURS Travel doesn’t merely facilitate journeys; it fosters the transcendence of boundaries and the embrace of limitless horizons.

In the heart of this logo is a tribute to adventure and togetherness. The flight symbol speaks to the thrill of exploration and the pursuit of new frontiers. The circular shape reflects an inclusive and tightly-knit community of travelers. It’s not just a visual representation; it’s a narrative. It tells the story of not just reaching a destination but cherishing the journey itself. It’s an embodiment of the promise of unforgettable experiences, where travel is not merely physical movement, but a philosophy and a way of life that beckons us to expand our horizons and embrace the boundless potential of the world.

• Responsibilities: Researched, wrote, and formatted the content, designed the layout for the Admission Process page, and collaborated with the web development team to implement the content.

1. Gather your webmail account details. You’ll need information like your webmail email address, password, and possibly server settings (IMAP/POP and SMTP).
2. Add your webmail account to Gmail:
   1. Open Gmail on your computer (not on mobile).
   2. Click the gear icon in the top right, then click “See all settings”.

   2. Enter your name and the email address you want to send from.
   3. Click “Next Step”, then enter SMTP server and email login details (again, your webmail provider can provide these). (port 465)
   4. Click “Add Account”.
   5. Gmail will send a verification email to your webmail account. Check your webmail for the verification email and enter the code in the Gmail settings (or click the link in the email).

Today I am made a small video about the protests happening in Iran.

Iran is in western Asia. Officially it is called the Islamic republic of Iran. Because after the Arabs conquered iran in the 7^th century they started islamization of Iran. But somehow Iran became the focal point for Shia Islam within the middle east countering the long existing Arab and Sunni within the region.

Iran is one of the biggest players within Middle eastern affairs. But, there is a huge problem with its government. It is not a secret that the government of Iran is an Islamic theocracy that includes elements of a presidential system, with the ultimate authority vested in an autocratic “Supreme leader”. The authoritarian government has attracted widespread criticism for many violation of human rights. Serious violent suppressions of mass protests, unfair elections, and limited rights for women and children has been reported all over the news for the past few years.  

Worsening the situation the death of Mahsa Amini has lead to a social unrest in Iran.

On the 16^th of September 2022. The morality police arrested Amini for wearing the hijab (the veil) loosely exposing a bit of her hair.

Who is Morality police? It is a different section of police department established by the regime to target and arrest women and girls who wear “improper clothing”. These arbitrary arrests often include verbal abuse, physical and sexual violence, torture and even murder.

That’s what has happened even in this case. Eyewitnesses and women who were detained with Amini said, Amini was severely beaten. Although the police claim she passed away due to a heart attack, her family members claimed there were no any trace of an abnormal health condition.

I am wondering how on earth a piece of cloth has more value than a life. This violence against innocent women must be stopped. Several organisations, leaders and celebrities around the world has condemned the incident and expressed solidarity with the current protest happening in Iran. Despite of the governments attempt to supress the protesters by shooting metal pellets, deploying tear gas and limiting the internet access, more and more Iranians are joining the protest expanding the social unrest. According the reports at least 41 people have been killed while 1200 plus people have been detained.

My experience at 45^th EPA congress.

Since a very long time, I had the intention to write about my journey and include a diary section to my blog.

I believe today is the day, and the 45^th EPA congress is the best event to start my journal. Each year, in September, the association holds an annual conference where members and others with interest in Prosthodontics can meet and make scientific and clinical presentations to foster interest in the study and development of Prosthodontics. So, they named it EPA which means Euro Prosthetic Congress. And it is happening for the 45^th time.

This year, the committee had decided to hold the conference in the university of Siena which is my university. I feel proud and lucky. Coming from Sri Lanka and being part of one of the biggest conferences in dental prosthodontics is something I haven’t even dreamt of. It is really a big deal for me.

I want to journal this first-time experience and register it forever. If you are reading this blog don’t forget to remind me about this experience, whenever we meet.

Today is the 25^th of September, 2022. But, the conference started on the 22^nd and finished yesterday which is the 24th.

First let me explain how was yesterday for me.

I woke up early in the morning at 5.30 am to be on time at the conference because the event had planned to start at 9.00 am. As soon as I woke up, I checked the official website of the EPA congress and I started playing a song on YouTube. Otherwise I would have felt sleepy. But, this time I had to prepare my suit apart from my normal morning routine. Never mind, I thought I will prepare my suit after the breakfast. I quickly had cornflakes with milk. Somehow and somehow, I was done with all these stuff by 7.00 am. And I checked the official website of EPA for the second time to download the program time table. I viewed the time table but, I did not download.  

“My coat and the trouser were ready in the cupboard already. But, I had to iron my shirt. Ok. No problem. I have time, I need only 30 minutes to go to the hospital. The conference starts at 9am. Now, it is only 7 am. I will quit house sharp at 8 o’clock.” This is the only though came to my mind when I saw the time. All is well.

I ironed my shirt and dressed up. All was set. I looked at the time. It was 7.30. I felt good. I had 30 more minutes to exit. So, I rested a little. And, sharp at 8 o’clock I went out. My time was really good. The bus S77 which directly goes to the hospital arrived as soon as I came to the street. I got in the bus. And, I was happily checking the EPA website to download the time table again to check which presentation I should visit at first. I downloaded without any problem. I read the program and decided which presentation I should visit first. Then, I wanted to check YouTube to play a song. When I opened YouTube app, suddenly the google chrome which was working in behind opened. Google chrome had the EPA website.

When I saw the page for the third time I was shocked. I could not believe my eyes. Because, the venue of the event was not the hospital. It was Via Piero Andrea Matteoli 10. By that time I was near Hotel Anna, which is 40 minutes by bus to that specific venue. I could have waited on the same bus and get down at Piazza del sale and walk to the place. But, I thought it will take a lot of time. So, I immediately got down. And walked near the McDonald’s expecting for a S10. Luckily an S4 came which is much more faster.

With the bus I got down at Garibaldi stop near piazza del sale. Because that’s how the google map showed me the road. And, in the map it showed by the bus it is 20 minutes. By walk it is 50 minutes. So, I thought taking a bus is really good. And, I waited. After about few minutes, I realised I had to walk towards porta Ovile to get the bus.

Ohh….. Again walk…. And I am almost running out of time. But, it is ok. The congress is much more important. So, I walked and somehow reached the porta.

I was waiting and waiting. The bus didn’t appear. I thought I will walk to the place. But, I was stopped by Sam Ca’tel who was passing Porta Ovile. He asked me where I am going and I explained the whole scene.

He was like. “No no no. Don’t walk. It is quite far from here. You could have gone from the Siena center. It is only 10 minutes away from there”. He suggested me to wait for the bus and go.

By that time, he went somewhere. I could not see him for few minutes. I was waiting and waiting. The bus was not showing up. The time was running too. I was so nervous. Suddenly, I saw Sam was coming towards me with a cup of coffee. He offered me the coffee.

“Oh man. Thank you.” I said. But, I refused. I highly appreciate his hospitality. But, I was not in a mood for a coffee at that time. Simultaneously the Bus number S2 came. And, boom. I hopped in. Then the driver helped to get down at the correct stop to take the next bus which is S54. And with the bus numbered S54 I arrived at the venue exactly at 10.07 am.

I directly headed to the reception. The lady at the reception welcomed me with a warm smile. “Welcome doctor! May I know your kind name please?” She asked my name. I looked behind me. I thought she was talking to someone else because, it’s being a while people called me “doctor”. Wow.

“I am Antru Anthonisamy” I replied. She gave me my badge and a bag containing the necessary material for the congress. I thanked her and directly went to see the posters. I actually was looking for presentation rooms. But, when I was passing the posters, there was a room filled with people, I entered it. When I was looking for a place to sit, there a space near a Japanese boy. I had my seat and officially started to participate in the event.

What are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), or sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are infections that are passed from one person to another through sexual contact. The contact is usually vaginal, oral, or anal sex. But sometimes they can spread through other intimate physical contact. This is because some STDs, like herpes and HPV, are spread by skin-to-skin contact.

There are more than 20 types of STDs, including:

• Chlamydia
• Genital herpes
• Gonorrhoea
• HIV/AIDS
• HPV
• Pubic lice
• Syphilis
• Trichomoniasis

What causes sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

There are 3 major causes.

• Bacteria, including chlamydia, gonorrhoea, and syphilis
• Viruses, including HIV/AIDS, herpes simplex virus, human papillomavirus, hepatitis B virus, cytomegalovirus (CMV), and Zika
• Parasites, such as trichomonas vaginalis, or insects such as crab lice or scabies mites.

Any STI can be spread through sexual activity including sexual intercourse, and some STIs also are spread through oral sex and other sexual activity. Ejaculation does not have to occur for an STI to pass from person to person.

In addition, sharing contaminated needles, such as those used to inject drugs, or using contaminated body piercing or tattooing equipment also can transmit some infections, such as HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C. A few infections can be sexually transmitted but are also spread through nonsexual, close contact. Some of these infections, like CMV, are not considered STIs even though they can be transmitted through sexual contact.

Regardless of how a person is exposed, once a person is infected by an STI, he or she can spread the infection to other people through oral, vaginal, or anal sex, even if he or she has no symptoms.

Who is affected by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

Most STDs affect both men and women, but in many cases the health problems they cause can be more severe for women. If a pregnant woman has an STD, it can cause serious health problems for the baby.

What are the symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

STDs don’t always cause symptoms or may only cause mild symptoms. So it is possible to have an infection and not know it. But you can still pass it on to others.

If there are symptoms, they could include:

• Unusual discharge from the penis or vagina
• Sores or warts on the genital area
• Painful or frequent urination
• Itching and redness in the genital area
• Blisters or sores in or around the mouth
• Abnormal vaginal odour
• Anal itching, soreness, or bleeding
• Abdominal Pain
• Fever

How are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) diagnosed?

If you have a doubt you might have caught one of the above diseases, you should talk to your health care provider about your risk for STDs and whether you need to be tested. This is especially important since many STDs do not usually cause symptoms.

Some STDs may be diagnosed during a physical exam or through microscopic examination of a sore or fluid swabbed from the vagina, penis, or anus. Blood tests can diagnose other types of STDs.
